After 30 years in the entertainment industry I have had the opportunity to work in many facets of the business. When I hear the term Special Event what comes to mind is the people involved that allow an event to be special. What also comes to mind is all the resources, details and skills that go into, what Bill Graham called, “Experiments in Public Assemblage”.
Being able to perform and entertain a group is a true gift. Being able to come up with the material that allows the performer to entertain is an art. Being able to take all of this and combine a venue is what the producer does. In my experience I have only known a handful of people that have the ability to to do all three. Mike Ahern is one of those people.
I believe that if you were to take away all Mike’s musical talent and skill you would be left with a true leader, one who has great vision and sincere concern for those he is involved with. His ability to lend his intelligence combined with humility also make him a very effective teacher.
It has always been a pleasure to work with Mike and I look foreword to opportunities to do so in the future.
