Over the past several years Michael John has had the opportunity to perform at what is now known as Jerry Garcia Amphitheater in San Francisco's McLaren Park.

In 2005 the original committee known as FACE (Friends of the Crocker and Excelsior) who founded the 03 and 04 Jerry Day's asked MJ to musically produce the historic Jerry Garcia Amphitheater Dedication Ceremony which took place in October 2005. The music included The Little Wheels Band, Jefferson Starship, Grapefruit Ed, David Gans, The Mystery Cats and The Flying Other Brothers with Peter Harris on guitar. The event was sired by Wavy Gravy and was well attended ( 1500+) and included celebrities Mayor Gavin Newsom, Leland Yee, Tiff Garcia, Mountain Girl, and Ben Fong Torres to name but a few.
From my perspective the event was one of the highlights of my musical and personal experience. Meeting and working with this tremendously talented and resourceful group of community minded people and having such an amazing outcome transcended anything I had participated in previously in my life. I am honored to have been part of the event both as a producer and a performer.
